Specialist Neurological Physiotherapy in Peterborough
We also offer our services to patients with neurological conditions, such as head injury, motor neurone disease, multiple sclerosis, cerebral palsy, stroke and Parkinson’s disease.
People with neurological conditions may have difficulties with their physical functions, including muscle strength, range of movement, balance and mobility.
Our neuro treatment involves rehabilitation techniques, balance retraining, functional restoration programmes, mobility work and comprehensive exercise programmes built based on individual presentation and to work towards the patient’s goals.
At our VCF clinic we have a bigger gym room in which we can use a variety of equipment such as parallel bars, exercise bike, treadmill, weights and balance equipment.
We can also complete neurological sessions as a home visit if patients are unable to get to our clinic.

Our Treatment Approach
Assessment
Your appointment begins with an assessment to understand your condition, movement patterns, and functional abilities.
We’ll assess areas such as strength, balance, coordination, mobility, and how your symptoms affect your day-to-day activities. This helps us identify the underlying challenges and set realistic, meaningful goals for you.
Personalised Rehabilitation Programme
Based on your assessment, we create a tailored treatment plan designed around your individual needs and goals.
Your programme may include:
Hands-on physiotherapy techniques
Targeted exercises
Balance and coordination training
Strength and mobility work
Gait re-education (walking practice)
Posture and movement retraining
Functional task practice (e.g. transfers, daily activities)
Our goal is to improve movement, build confidence, and support your independence, helping you get back to the activities that matter most to you, as safely and effectively as possible.
Neurological Physiotherapy FAQs
-
Sessions are a minimum of an hour to allow for stretches and strengthening exercises to be completed in a slow and controlled manner. We can also complete manual physiotherapy techniques within this time if appropriate.
-
This varies depending on each individual’s requirements. We find initially most people benefit from being seen weekly or even twice a week. Then as things improve sessions may become less frequent such as fortnightly.
-
Our neurophysiotherapy sessions can be completed at our clinic or at your home. If you would like to book a home visit please look at our home visits page for further details.
-
No. We have a variety of pieces of equipment in our gym facility that we can use on site. If we are completing neurophysiotherapy at your home we may bring some equipment with us or use items from around the house to help as necessary.
