FAQs
-
If you care for an adult with physical or learning difficulties that attends these centres you may consider organising physiotherapy sessions for them.
For service users that are independently mobile, physiotherapy can help to improve muscle strength, balance, posture and reduce risk of falls.
For service users with more physical impairments such as being in a wheelchair physiotherapy can help to reduce pain by improving their joint stiffness, reducing muscle tightness and to engage them as much as possible within their sessions to complete exercises either independently or with assistance.
-
For the first session with the patient a detailed assessment will be completed with the help of the parent/carer or support worker present on site to determine their diagnosis, condition and goals of physiotherapy.
Regular physiotherapy sessions either weekly or fortnightly will then be completed. These sessions will involve passive stretches, manual therapy including mobilisations and massage, improving posture, exercises based on their abilities, sensory activities.

Our sessions at both sense and the helping hands group in Peterborough last for 30 to 45 minutes. We already have clinics running at both centres and have scope to take on new patients.
